Year 2 thoroughly enjoyed their suffragette workshop this week. They started by learning about Emily Davison and what her childhood was like. Then they discussed what girls were allowed to do, wear and learn in Victorian times. These all contributed to the suffragette movement. The children got to explore what writing on slates was like. Then each class signed a petition to support ‘votes for women’ and created their own rosettes. Finally they took part in a demonstration which all the children loved!
