Yr2 Butterflies

Six weeks ago we came in from playtime and we had an unbelievable surprise. We had pet caterpillars but they were really tiny and they still had a whole lifecycle to do. Every day they grew bigger and huger. We didn’t need to give them any food because it had everything it needed at the bottom of the pot. Once every one of them had got into their cocoon we put them into the butterfly garden and we waited patiently. On Monday Eila spotted something fantastic. There was a butterfly so everybody shoved to see the new born baby. A few days later there were two butterflies. We couldn’t believe it and once again everyone shoved to see. We had so much fun doing it. Many thanks to Mrs Peake and everybody else who arranged this but sadly all good things have to come to an end so we’re releasing them into the wild.
