School Development Fund Parent/Carer Support

We are incredibly grateful for the support we receive from so many of our parents/carers, but if you do not currently offer the school financial support, one way you can make a huge difference to the school is through making regular contributions to the Hinchley Wood Primary School Development Fund (“Fund”).

We are re-launching the fund this year as we look to raise funds to redesign and refresh many of the external parts of the school site.  We have ambitious plans to comprehensively redesign the outdoor play space for pupils in Reception, create a new grass play area for pupils in Key Stage 1 and replace the old wooden play equipment in the Key Stage 2 playground.  Such improvements do not come cheap and whilst we have a commitment from the PTA to use their fund raising in 2025/26 to support our plans, we also need your help!

What is the Hinchley Wood Primary School Development Fund?

A Fund administered by Trustees who operate independently to the school and who distribute funds to the school exclusively. It provides funds for school facilities that cannot be covered out of government funding. Previous purchases by the Fund include playground equipment, playground benches and tables and bike/scooter racks but this year we want to go further.

Is making a contribution compulsory?

No – any contribution is completely voluntary. This scheme is only for people that are able and wish to make a contribution but this request comes at a time when all school budgets are under increasing pressure. Indeed, HWPS will receive no funding increase whatsoever for 2026/27.  CLICK HERE for more details.

How can I make a contribution?

You can set up a Direct Debit to make monthly contributions to the Fund, or if you prefer, make a single one-off payment. Please click on the link below for the Direct Debit mandate form and the Gift Aid declaration form.

How much should I contribute?

For those who are able, we would ask for a voluntary contribution of £15 per month per child. Some contribute more and some less - every pound really does count.  If you are already making a contribution and feel that you are able to increase the amount you currently donate each month, please send an email with the proposed amendment to Andrea Cheeseman at acheeseman@hinchleywoodschool.co.uk
