Admissions Criteria 2022/23

The Hinchley Wood Learning Partnership Trust Board determined their arrangements for entry to Hinchley Wood Primary School for September 2022/2023 as required by the School Admissions Code and the School Admissions (Admission Arrangements and Co-ordination of Admission Arrangements) (England) Regulations 2012 without change.

Admissions Policy 2022-23

Hinchley Wood Primary is a 3-form entry school (i.e. 3 classes per year group; each class with 30 children) located on Claygate Lane. In total, we have 630 children across 7 year groups. Reception Admission Applications for September 2022.

Our current policy at Hinchley Wood Primary School is to offer a full-time education (after a staggered start) from the start of the academic year for all our new Foundation Stage (Reception) children. For the vast majority of children this arrangement works very well. Whilst applicants can defer their child’s entry to Reception until later in the school year, this will not be agreed beyond the beginning of the term after the child’s fifth birthday, nor beyond the beginning of the final term of the academic year for which the offer was made. Applicants may also arrange for their child to start part time until their child reaches statutory school age. This admissions policy is kept under review and may be amended in the future.

By law children must start full time education no later than the beginning of the term following their fifth birthday. In Surrey all children can be admitted into school in the September of the academic year during which they become five.

Application for Reception entry during academic year 2022/2023 must be made by 15th January 2022 (to be confirmed) direct to Surrey via an online application or on a paper application form available from Surrey County Council. Surrey School Admissions

Late applications will only be considered after all on time applications have been processed.

There are no fixed catchment areas and the following priorities will only apply if the school is oversubscribed and the number of admissions has to be limited. Children with an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) that names the school will be allocated a place before other children are considered. In this way, the number of places available will be reduced by the number of children with an EHCP that has named the school.Information regarding admission to HWPS is available via the document links below.
